Come to the library and see the classic film "Jaws" in celebration of the film's 50th Anniversary!

This thrilling motion picture first debuted in 1975 when a massive killer shark unleashes chaos on a beach community off Long Island. It's up to the local police chief, a marine biologist, and an old seafarer to hunt the beast down.

The film is rated PG and its runtime is 2 hours and 4 minutes.  Directed by Steven Spielberg, written by Peter Benchley and Carl Gottlieb, it stars Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss.

It won three Oscars in 1976 for Best Sound, Best Film Editing and Best Music, Original Dramatic Score.  It was nominated for Best Picture.  It won one Golden Globe that same year for Best Original Score - Motion Picture.  It was nominated for seven BAFTA's and won many other awards.

Jaws is still among the favorites of film buffs everywhere and to this day attracts many tourists each year to its filming location on the island of Martha's Vineyard,  Massachusetts.

Don't miss this piece of iconic film history!
