UNSUNG: Love - A Multi-Media Community Conversation

Unsung is a multimedia community conversation on stories from the carceral system.  The series is presented by the Sing Sing Prison Museum, in collaboration with our remarkable community partners Life Stories, Musicambia, and the Ossining Public Library.

Unsung is similar to attending a movie and concert while being part of a book club.  In each case, the "reading" will be part of a dynamic story accompanied with live music and moderated conversation.  Our shared stories and music can transcend and promote societal healing, and that is the vision of Unsung.  On-stage panel and audience thoughts are key throughout this free series.  Live music creates emotional space to reflect, process and consider.  Unsung stories explore ideas of damage, expansion and transcendence from a multiplicity of points of view - including yours.

We invite you to attend one or all of these programs.  Join us as we respond together, share stories, and work to create a more just society. This program takes places in the Budarz Theater at the Ossining Public Library.

Please Note: UNSUNG is partly inspired by the work of Agnes Fallah Kamara-Umunna who was born in Liberia, where she hosted the UN funded radio program "Straight from the Heart" and was a statement taker for the Liberia Truth & Reconciliation Commission.  This series is underwritten by Lilly Endowment.
