"Sapikuna" Documentary Film Screening and Kichwa Language Talking Circle
The documentary film "Sapikuna" showcases indigenous stories of resilience and struggle in Ecuador.
Featuring the perspectives of three generation of Kichwa activists, "Sapikuna" confronts deep questions of decolonization and the preservation of cultural identity, as well as the challenges facing indigenous communities in a globalized world.
Join us for a screening followed by a discussion and Kichwa language talking circle facilitated by local elders and youth. We will reflect on the role of Kichwa identity in stories of migration and diaspora.
All levels of Kichwa and Spanish are welcome! The film contains audio in Kichwa with Spanish subtitles.
