As part of our ongoing partnership and community outreach, the Ossining Public Library and the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers are proud to offer a two-part genealogy workshop series this Fall! 

Join Meagan Cairns, Professional Genealogist and Archivist for the Maryknoll Mission Archives, on Tuesday, October 17 at the Ossining Public Library and Tuesday, November 14 at the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers Center to learn more about using genealogy databases. We’ll be exploring Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org, which are available for free through the Ossining Public Library.  

All experience levels are welcome! 

Part 2 – Database Deep-Dive: Search like a Professional

Tuesday, November 14, 2:00-3:30 pm at Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers Center, 55 Ryder Road, Maryknoll 

Led by Genealogist Meagan Cairns, part 2 will cover getting the most out of FamilySearch and Ancestry. We’ll discuss hard-to-find records and ancestors, tips to overcome obstacles, and more. While this workshop is designed for practiced researchers, all experience levels are encouraged to attend. Meagan Cairns is a Professional Genealogist and Archivist at the Maryknoll Mission Archives in Maryknoll, NY. She has been teaching family history research since 2018.
