Event Details

Celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week with an amazing concert by two of Argentina's best guitarists: Federico Diaz and Juan Almada! This event is generously sponsored by The Friends of Ossining Library.

The guitar duo of Federico Diaz and Juan Almada was born from the musical and personal connection between the two musicians. Approximately a decade ago, they met at a festival and discovered a deep artistic affinity, sparking the idea of playing as a duo. However, their respective solo careers and geographical distance delayed this project until 2022. With a strong inclination toward chamber music, the duo offers a fresh and innovative perspective on the repertoire for guitar duos. In the spring of 2025, they embarked on their second European tour, presenting an eclectic program that includes music by Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Aguirre, Remo Pignoni, Gentil Montaña, and Frederic Hand, among others. Don't miss this special event in their only Westchester appearance!

Juan Almada is considered by the public and critics alike as one of the most important Argentinian guitarists of his generation. He has a degree in classical guitar from the Faculty of Fine Arts (UNLP) and post graduate work in Latin-American Music under the guidance of Eduardo Isaac at Luis Gianneo Conservatory (Mar del Plata).

Born in Mendoza, Argentina, Federico Díaz is a New York City-based musician with a multifaceted career as a performing artist, arranger, and composer. With a special focus on tango, Argentine folklore, and chamber music, Federico has collaborated with numerous renowned artists as he moves with versatility through the realms of classical and popular music.
