Join us for this exciting author event sponsored by The Friends of Ossining Library and the Adult Services Department as Hudson Valley and NYC based writer Sam Sussman discusses his novel Boy from the North Country with Q&A and a book signing to follow. Copies will be available for purchase from Hudson Valley Books for Humanity at the event. 

Sam Sussman is the author of the debut novel Boy from the North Country, published by Penguin Press on September 16, 2025. The novel was reviewed by Kirkus as “the most beautiful and moving mother-son story in recent memory” and debuted as a USA Today Bestseller. Sam previously won the BAFTA New Writing Award and wrote the Harper’s memoir, “The Silent Type: On (Possibly) Being Bob Dylan’s Son.”

Originally from the Hudson Valley, Sam has lived in Jerusalem, Berlin, and England. He graduated with a B.A from Swarthmore and M. Phil from Oxford. Sam has taught writing and literature seminars in the U.K, India, and Chile and participated in the PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature three times. He lives in the Yorkville neighborhood of Manhattan and his native Hudson Valley.
