"Imbadura Taytamamakuna Kawsay" - Wichana Foundation Photo Exhibit

All are welcome to attend the Opening Reception for the photography exhibit from Ecuador which will consist of inspiring life stories and portraits captured by photojournalist Rafael Perez Anrango in honor of Imbabura's indigenous Kichwa runa elders. Co-sponsored by the Wichana Foundation, this photo exhibit will run from October 1 - 31. The Wichana Foundation was started in the fall of 2019 to support community-based programs in Ecuador that benefit the health,
education and culture of community members.

Photojournalist Rafael Perez Anrango of Tunibamba, Cotacachi, Ecuador captured fifteen inspiring personal life stories and character portraits of Indigenous Kichwa elders. Through this exhibit, Wichana Foundation aims to reveal and preserve for future generations the inspiring lived histories of local Indigenous people as recalled by their elders. Imbabura Taytamamakuna Kawsay features three languages - Kichwa, English and Spanish - in hopes of transmitting the knowledge and wisdom of the elders to more populations.

Bring your friends and family and discover the indigenous elders of Imbabura, Ecuador through these stunning photos and stories of Kichwa elders. Learn about the Wichana Foundation and their work in Ecuador.

Enjoy light refreshments and musical accompaniment in our Art Gallery.
